The State Wildlife & Transportation Connectivity Plan, or SWTAP for short, is a collaborative effort among Massachusetts DOT, Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, the Division of Marine Fisheries, and other State Agencies, to formalize policies and procedures to integrate wildlife consideration into transportation project planning, and identify high priority road location for mitigation project. The effort is guided by the BSC Group, and the Wildlife Connectivity Institute’s Dr. Patricia Cramer. The plan will be formalized and available for public review in the summer of 2025.
